The Windsurfer Class is one of the world's oldest and most loved one-design sailing classes.
In Australia, we’ve kept the class alive since the 1970s, embracing newcomers, families, youth and seasoned racers.
Learn about our history, the spirit of one-design, and why the LT is perfect for everyone from first-timers to world champions.

Windsurfer LT Sail Numbers
Under International Class rules each country/region manages its own sail numbering system. Other countries/regions such as Europe use alternative systems such as personal numbers.
In Australia, either of the following options are acceptable for racing:
AUS-XXXX Number Option
By having AWA TPL insurance either through membership of WCAA or another affiliated club (such as Windsurfing Victoria or Windsurfing WA) you are automatically allocated an AUS-XXXX sail number by AWA.
CHECK YOUR AWA SAIL NUMBER (Click)
Note: If you use this option you must use the full AUS-XXXX as the number on your sail (including the hyphen).
LT Hull Number Option
Alternatively, you may choose to use your unique Windsurfer LT hull serial number as your sail number. The number is located on a decal at the stern of the LT. In this case you cannot use the AUS prefix, just the numbers.
This will mean your sail number will have either 1,2,3 or 4 digits.
Please don't mix and match sail numbering. This causes duplication and confusion for race officials. You will be asked to fix any errors before racing.
