2026 WCAA AGM

Here is information regarding the next WCAA AGM to be held on 23rd June 2026.

Committee Roles

President

The President provides overall leadership to the WCAA and serves as the primary representative of the Association.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership and direction to the WCAA.

• Chairing Executive Committee and General Meetings.

• Representing the WCAA to members, clubs and external stakeholders.

• Leading engagement with the Australian Windsurfing Association and other peak bodies.

• Representing the WCAA within the International Windsurfer Class Association and other relevant organisations.

• Acting as the principal spokesperson for the WCAA.

• Supporting the Executive Committee in developing and delivering strategic priorities.

• Fostering a positive, inclusive and collaborative class culture.

Vice President

Vice President

The Vice President supports the President in the leadership of the WCAA and is responsible for member engagement, communications and class development initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the President in carrying out their duties.

• Acting in the President's role when required.

• Leading member engagement and class development initiatives.

• Overseeing Association communications including newsletters, websites, social media and other member communication channels.

• Supporting membership growth, retention and participation.

• Coordinating communications relating to national events, championships and Association activities.

• Providing oversight and support to communications and marketing volunteers or committees.

• Leading special projects as delegated by the Executive Committee.

• Supporting succession planning and volunteer development.

Secretary

Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for the administration and governance records of the WCAA and supports effective communication between the Executive Committee, members and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Organising Executive Committee and General Meetings.

• Preparing and distributing meeting agendas and minutes.

• Maintaining WCAA records and official documentation.

• Managing correspondence and formal communications.

• Maintaining the membership register and ensuring membership records remain current.

• Maintaining the WCAA insurance register and associated records.

• Supporting compliance with Incorporated Association requirements and the Constitution.

• Maintaining registers and records as required by law and the Constitution.

• Assisting with annual reporting and governance obligations.

• Liaising with the Australian Windsurfing Association on administrative matters as required.

• Supporting communication between members, State Representatives and the Executive Committee.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the WCAA and ensuring that funds are managed responsibly and transparently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring the financial position of the WCAA.

• Maintaining financial records and reporting.

• Preparing budgets and financial updates for the Executive Committee.

• Managing banking, payments and income collection.

• Coordinating annual financial statements and any required audits or reviews.

• Supporting the Executive Committee in financial planning and decision making.

• Ensuring compliance with relevant financial obligations.

State Reps

State Representatives are responsible for supporting and developing the Windsurfer Class within their respective state. They act as the primary local point of contact for sailors and clubs and help coordinate a regular program of class activity.

State Representatives are not members of the Executive Committee unless separately elected to an Executive position.

Key responsibilities include:

• Promoting and supporting Windsurfer Class participation within their state.

• Developing and coordinating a calendar of local events and activities.

• Supporting the organisation and delivery of an annual State Championship.

• Working with local clubs and sailing organisations to encourage participation.

• Communicating local issues, opportunities and member feedback to the Executive Committee.

• Supporting national initiatives and communications within their state.

• Encouraging membership growth, sailor development and class engagement.
