Fantastic afternoon of racing for the WA fleet at the SOPYC Winter Series.
22 starters in 15-23 knots kept everyone on their toes and made for some super exciting racing. Tim Gourley took like honours in the 3 races, but was pushed hard by Jay and Kelvin. Laurie sailed consistently well too.
Great to see Ian Lane stepping up to Centreboard Fleet Captain at SOPYC. This an important position at the SOPYC and shows how the WA fleet is becoming fully integrated into the WA sailing community and taking its responsibilities seriously. It meant he was handing out the prizes too!
Well done to Laurie and Robyn, but also PJ, Kelvin and Bjorn, who also won flags. This Winter Series is run on a handicap system, which gives the whole fleet a chance of glory
Huge thanks to all of the volunteers from the SOPYC who made yesterdays racing possible
