Two days of severe thunderstorms create problems at the start of the Italian National Championships.
Practice day racing was abandoned, as was the Marathon on the first day of competition on Thursday. West Australian Tim Gourlay in the lightweight division was lying in second place when the Marathon was abandoned. After severe wind gusts earlier in the race, the wind died to nothing. Racing will resume today (Friday).
